Lisa Garza joined the Strength & Hope Therapy Center in February 2020.  She is an MSW graduate from New Mexico State University, where she also received her BA in Criminal Justice & Foreign Language (Spanish) degree. She is an NM Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) and a certified Community Educator through the One Circle Foundation.  She has over four years of experience working with youth, families, and individuals as an agent of support and guidance.  Her professional life includes a commitment to serving the needs of children, youth, and families across diverse cultures.  She is a lifelong learner inspired by the abundance of opportunities to enrich the lives of those she works with.  Ms. Garza is a recent EMDR Clinician. She receives her consultation through an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Sandra Gutierrez, and looks forward to changing as many lives as possible through this Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).  Lisa is also part of the Mayor’s Suicide Task Force and a certified QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Trainer.  She has additional expertise in family systems, positive parenting, mindfulness, diversionary interventions, restorative justice, and social learning skills.
Additionally, Lisa is currently working on completing a Play Therapy Certification and has begun teaching social work courses at the undergraduate level.
